Hello, I'm Nick Paladino

Digital & Product Leader with a builder's background — product management and site reliability at The Home Depot, an entrepreneurial venture built from scratch, and years spent inside the digital operations of dozens of retail and consumer teams. I help growing consumer brands stand up the digital function they don't have yet: product, technology, and customer experience under one roof, with a founder's sense of ownership.

At Blue Triangle, I sit inside the digital operations of dozens of retail and consumer teams — diagnosing what's actually driving (or costing) revenue across product, engineering, and customer experience. It's given me a working, cross-functional view of what a digital function needs to run well, at any size.

Built a proprietary revenue attribution methodology (below) used to tie technical and experience issues directly to dollars.

  • Digital Strategy & Roadmapping
  • Product Management
  • Site Reliability & Technical Operations
  • E-Commerce & Conversion Optimization
  • Revenue Impact Quantification
  • Cross-Functional Team Leadership
  • Vendor & Tech Stack Evaluation
  • Customer Journey & CX Strategy
  • Data-Driven Experimentation
  • Building Digital Functions from Scratch
Data Science Innovation

Revenue Change Attribution Model

Built a proprietary method using data science to decompose why revenue changes — breaking down the signal into five distinct influences:

01
Performance
Site speed & load time impact on conversion
02
Stability
Errors, outages & reliability affecting revenue
03
Traffic
Volume shifts & channel mix changes
04
Average Order Value
Cart composition & pricing influence
05
Intent
User motivation & purchase readiness signals

Across my career, I've moved between building things directly — a product function, an engineering team, a small business of my own — and diagnosing what makes digital experiences work for teams of every size, from startups to national retailers. That range is the point: I can operate hands-on and think at the level of the whole business.

I didn't start in tech — I studied cinematography and filmmaking at the New York Film Academy and earned a degree in Telecommunication & Film with a Business focus at the University of Alabama. Storytelling, light, and visual composition were my first language. That lens — understanding audience, narrative flow, and emotional impact — is what I bring to every digital experience I touch.

I'm not looking to replicate an enterprise digital org — I'm looking to build one. Here's the combination I'd bring to a growing brand's first real digital seat.

Built From Zero
CGAA Solutions
Founded and built a data ETL company from the ground up — architecture, product, and go-to-market. Currently self-funded and in maintenance mode while I focus on Blue Triangle. I know what it's like to own every function, not just advise on one.
Product + Technical Fluency
The Home Depot
Product management and site reliability experience at national retail scale. I can sit with engineering and with the P&L owner in the same conversation.
A Proprietary Framework
Revenue Attribution Model
Built a methodology that ties technical and experience issues directly to revenue — a diagnostic I've used across dozens of retail and consumer teams.
A Front-Row Seat
Enterprise Digital Operations
Years spent inside the digital operations of major retail and consumer brands — not running their P&L, but seeing firsthand what separates a team that converts from one that doesn't.
A Real Network
60+ Conversations, 50+ Leaders
Two years of direct conversations with digital leaders across retail, consumer, and tech — a working network, not a resume line.

Most episodes feature a guest from a major brand — those are their stories. These are the episodes where it's just Chuck and me, building and arguing out our own frameworks in real time. If you want a sense of how I actually think, start here.

November 2025
The MVP Myth That's Breaking Product Teams
  • Argued the real problem isn't MVPs — it's teams letting developer speed, not customer value, define "minimum."
  • Named the pattern of "finding the green": cherry-picking any positive metric instead of letting real usage data guide the call.
  • Made the case for measuring what a new feature displaces, not just whether it wins in isolation.
August 2025
6 Biggest Lessons from 50 Episodes
  • Distilled two years of guest interviews into one rule: friction only gets budget when it's tied to a revenue or cost number.
  • Argued that removing all friction is the wrong goal — some friction (fraud checks, payment confirmations) builds trust and should stay.
  • Turned 50 conversations into a repeatable point of view, not just a highlight reel.
Original Framework
The Friction Five
  • Built an original model — the Five Friction Forces (Marketing, Seasonality, Site Functionality, Design, Speed) — modeled on Porter's Five Forces.
  • Argued that fixing one force in isolation, like site speed, can backfire if it's out of sync with the other four.
  • Became one of the show's most-referenced episodes and was later written up on Blue Triangle's own blog.
October 2025
Podcast Secrets Revealed: Behind the Scenes
  • Explained why over-preparing guests backfires — scripted answers lose the value that makes an interview worth listening to.
  • Broke down the production discipline behind sustaining a two-year-old show alongside a full-time job.
  • Turned the show's own operating model into content — treating a podcast like a product, not just a hobby.
